The Blanc Notes

As some of you probably notice, I have been working on my street style blog with my friend Annisa. The site called THEBLANCNOTES . The purpose of that blog is to capture Jakarta's street style. Not only the one in the shopping malls (where most of stylish people flock) but also other places like art gallery, public places like campus or parks) and maybe some unpredicted places like 711 convenience store. I know I don't always follow the trend (heck if it were up to me I would be wearing floral forever) but I always love to see other's style.

Well, my role on that blog is to deal with the blogger interview, so far we have posted 4 marvelous interviews (giving credit to myself). I have to tell you that it has been a great experience. Most of them are nice and very responsive. As I work more on my blog, I think I am slowly (baby step by baby step) make a place where people can discover Jakarta's style in one place. Kind of the one stop shopping for Jakarta's style reference.

Another feature on our blogs is View from the row. The view from the row talks about some fashion show that we (luckily) could attend. I learned a lot from going to a fashion show. I found out that the show usually hold on weekdays. Also those hard work for months all come down to a great 30-40 minutes show. It was magical. I know it's not some haute couture show in Paris but you can see all the hardwork the designer put into the show.

The most challenging task for now is actually asking people for their picture. Gosh, Jakarta is not New York where you can stop people on the street and ask for their picture. It takes a lot of courage and thick face (translation : muka tebel). Well, it might be easy when you ask the people in shopping malls or fashion show. But imagine when you ask street musician who probably don't have any idea about street style blog. It takes a lot of courage sometimes my hands shake.

So, to appreciate my work if you are interested please visit THEBLANCNOTES

Cheers,
Astriani
