Edith Wharton

What if you love someone but that person refuse to be with you because you are already engaged and that person ask you to be with your fiance?

In simple words, a guy wants to be with a girl but he can't...It seems unlikely to happen these days, well it was and earlier today I watched "The Age of Innocence" by Martin Scorsese. The story revolves around the relationship between May Welland, Newland Archer and Countess Olenska. May and Newland were engaged but then Newland met Olenska and fell for her. Well for those who has never watched Archer and Olenska never get together but the story was in how they hold on to their feeling and try their best to not to be with each other.

Funny thing is TV series Gossip Girl made an episode about this story. The episode called " The Age of Dissonance" and it was hilarious. The Upper East Siders manage to create a play for Age of Innocence but unfortunately they blew it themselves.

Anyway, I like the movie and looking forward to read the book. The book is written by Edith Wharton.

For those who likes heart breaking love story, this movie is recommended, even though Michelle Pfeiffer reminded me of her role as Cat Woman in Batman.
